What is Topdressing and Overseeding?
This service provides all the benefits of our topdressing, utilizing our high quality natural marine compost (see our topdressing description on this web site), plus the added benefit of seeding. The nutrients and moisture holding qualities provided for the lawn by our composted topdressing, are also ideal for establishing seed when overseeding your lawn.
We use custom blended grass seed blends that are exclusive to us. Our Sun Mix seed blend is 70% Kentucky bluegrass (made up of 3 different ‘cultivars’) and 30% perennial ryegrass. Our Shade Mix seed blend is 60% fine fescue (made up of 3 different creeping red or Chewings fescue ‘cultivars’), 25% perennial ryegrass and 15% Kentucky bluegrass. Like all our seed blends, they are selected each year based on their overall quality as demonstrated by the world renowned National Turfgrass Evaluation Program (NTEP). These blends are extremely high quality that is exclusive to us and can not be purchased in local stores or by other service companies. We ensure their purity and the absence of weed seeds and annual grasses.

What do I need to do?
Water, water, water. As with all seeding, the success of this service is dependent on your ability to keep the seeded areas moist until the new seed has germinated and becomes established. We perform this service during seasons when rainfall is more prevalent; however, we can not always rely on natural rainfall. This will mean a regular watering routine on your part to keep the lawn moist for 3 to 4 weeks.
