Lawn Renovation

What is Lawn Renovation?
Our lawn renovation is a process that combines all the benefits of all three of our very popular services core aeration, composted topdressing and overseeding. We provide all this work in one service to deliver the benefits of each, but we conduct them during one visit to your lawn.

As with our topdressing and seeding work, we use our custom blended Sun or Shade Mix grass seed blends. See topdressing and overseeding description on this web site for a complete description of our seed. For renovation work we use a composted Black Earth topdressing material. This provides a superior ‘seed bed’ that is essential to the success of this service, particularly on lawns with severe insect or drought damage or bare areas. This blended compost is bagged, not bulk, and ensures:

  • No weed seeds.
  • No offensive odour.
  • High capacity to retain moisture.
  • Finely screened to reduce waste and speed compost incorporation into the lawn.
  • An ideal seed bed to establish or renovate a lawn.

Who should receive a Lawn Renovation?
Lawns can be ravaged by insects, drought, disease or perhaps you have purchased a home with a lawn that has been neglected. For many reasons, lawns can deteriorate into a state where they require more than just regular maintenance to re-establish a healthy thick condition. To do this, typically, many people would have to resort to resodding their lawn or at least spend a lot of time, effort and money. Our renovation process can do this for a fraction of the cost of resodding. While the results are not as immediate as resodding, it is surprising at what results we can achieve.

What are the benefits of a Lawn Renovation?
Many homeowners can become frustrated with trying to thicken and establish a lawn from one that is thin or damaged. Re-sodding is expensive and extremely labour intensive. Our lawn renovation provides a cost effective alternative. It rejuvenates a lawn while introducing seed varieties that are chosen specifically for the growing environment, and improving the existing soil by aerating and providing a natural compost.

What do I need to do?
Water, water, water. As with all seeding work, the success of this service is dependent on your ability to keep the seeded areas moist until the new seed has germinated and becomes established. We perform this service during seasons when rainfall is more prevalent; however, we can not always rely on natural rainfall. This will mean a regular watering routine on your part to keep the lawn moist for 3 to 4 weeks.
