GreenLawn has offered tree and shrub care services for over 20 years. We provide a range of plant health care services that help promote healthy landscapes. Our tree and shrub care customers receive all or any combination, of the following services to meet their landscape needs and their desire for healthy plants.
Spring Dormant Oil
An application of natural mineral oil to trees and shrubs before buds open in the spring. This natural product smothers insects that spend the winter on exposed parts of the tree or shrub before they can emerge and cause damage. These insects’ pests can include certain aphids, scale insects and spider mites. Blue coloured evergreens (such as blue spruce) can not be treated without affecting their blue colour.
Spring Root Fertilization
A liquid fertilizer application to the tree or shrub root zone. We ensure our fertilizer reaches the plant’s ‘feeder’ roots by applying it as a soil injection or surface drench using our unique application equipment. This application provides the plant with much needed nutrients in the spring after it has used up its stored winter food.
Late Spring Natural Insect Control
We inspect and apply a natural insecticidal soap to trees and shrubs as required. This controls certain leaf damaging spring insect pests on contact such as aphids, leaf beetle, scale crawlers, caterpillars and sawflies.
Early Summer Natural Insect Control
We inspect and apply a natural insecticidal soap to trees and shrubs as required. This controls certain leaf damaging early summer insect pests on contact such as spider mites, aphids, leaf beetle, scale crawlers, caterpillars and sawflies.
Summer Natural Insect Control
We inspect and apply a natural insecticidal soap to trees and shrubs as required. This controls certain leaf damaging mid-summer insect pests on contact such as spider mites, aphids, scale crawlers, and webworms.
Fall Root Fertilization
A liquid fertilizer application to the tree or shrub root zone. This fall application will increase the plant’s ability to produce and store energy reserves before the winter. This will better enable the tree or shrub to withstand winter stress and emerge in the spring in vigorous condition. Our regimen of root feeding trees and shrubs in the spring with the amount of nutrients they need at the time is more effective than large fertilizer applications every few years.
